Intravenous Fluids
Young animals can become extremely week if they are not getting enough fluids and nutrition.
Floating Teeth
Horses develop sharp points on their teeth as a result of the way they chew their food. Annual floating grinds away the points to prevent oral injury.
C-Section
Although we would love for all kids and lambs to be born without assistance, sometime we need to assist with vaginal deliveries. In a limited number of cases, surgery can be required for the safety of mom and babies.
Bovine Botulism
Botulism is caused by a bacteria that leads to a flaccid paralysis. Because of the paralysis, animals cannot properly chew their food and often have wads of un-chewed food stuck in the back of their throat.
Congenital Cataracts
This calf was born with congenital cataracts which prevented it from being able to see.
Urolythiasis
These stones were removed from the bladder of an 8 month old male castrated goat. When a goat becomes blocked, it can be a life threatening condition that requires immediate veterinary attention.
Broken Bones
Occasionally, during the birthing process, baby kids and lambs can break their legs. Luckily they heal quickly!!
